I have a set of tins from 1981 for an Electra Glide that has fantastic original paint everywhere except the front and rear fenders. These are not original to my bike so the VIN will not help me getting the original color scheme and apparently finding out the actual color name and code is proving to be a real challenge. It's a two tone dark red with brighter red panels and red pin striping. I looked at https://www.hdpaintcode.com/complete...code-database/ but it does not show the color or the code for these colors. Any ideas?
Hi Professor Fate,
I would like to mention this helpful online database: https://hdpaintcode.com/complete-har...code-database/
However, not with the so-called "Dupont codes" for mixing the colors of the paints at that time...
Unfortunately, I'm a complete idiot when it comes to paintwork; there was no internet or databases like this in 1979, but maybe it will help you a little...
Good luck!
