Default Quick question re: my FXRS

I have an 82' FXRS and my battery cable, negative, broke on the mount/ground end. Sounds simple, but I can't find where it was bolted on! This happened late afternoon and I only had a little bit of daylight to check it out, but couldn't readily locate where the bolt is to connect the ground end of the cable. I've heard that it should be bolted to the frame and I've also heard it should be bolted to the back of the starter housing.

Thanks for any advice.

I think the neg cable bolts to the frame ( under the seat to the front right ) ??

Default Looks like

Looks like it bolts on to one of the starter mounts... after a lot of looking around. Taking off the oil tank would make it a lot easier to find and fix, but I think it can be remedied without doing that....

Thanks for your help,

Max

I can see why the cable might have broken You have a motor dancing on rubber mounts so you can imagine the cable leaving the rigid mounted battery and moving up and down with the motor Replace the neg cable with a Terry style (lot of flex )
