I have a chance at an 82 FXE 1340 that has been converted to an FLH by way of tank and dash, front end and fenders and floorboards. Has some new stuff on it including tires, shocks, clutch, saddlebags and windshield. Has a lot of chrome- horn, crash bar and pegs, mirrors. Matching engine, tranny and frame. Electric and kick start.
Has 38,000 miles on it-
I can get it for $4750. Whadya think? -Also comes with original fxe tanks and hard bags that are in repairable shape. Gotta call him in the morning to say yay or nay.
Go for it, or wait and see....?
Thanks guys!

The model year '82 probably has the beld drive and 5 speed. I think 4.750 is fair if it looks good.
I would buy a original one not customized but if it looks good and you like it....
Thanks guys- I am holding out for an all original FLH...something about this one just doesn't add up. I never get a completely straight answer for my questions on it-

Haven't seen an "original" FLH shovel at that price in a long while even with the economy in the toilet. Going price for "original" still seems to be holding in the 7.5-10K range.
by original, I mean an actual flh, not a pieced together bike. I'm not looking for a restored bike, just something that doesn't need an instant rebuild.
I have a 1982 FLHS 1340 belt drive S&S carb and air cleaner lots of extras new tires engine upper end overhaul with KD BLACK PISTONS andrews cam reconditioned heads .four speed tranny just rebuilt new brakes custom seat with rider pad. $7500. If interested e-mail ttom@hughes.com.
