Default FXWG sideplates on FXE?

Anyone know if a set of sissy bar side plates for the 72-84 shovelhead FXWG will fit on an FXE of same vintage?

FXWG didn't come out till late in the shovelhead line like 1980 or later I think 82 and I'm pretty sure the mounts holes are spaced a bit different because of the turn signals But won't swear . Check the custom chrome or drag spec catalogs sometimes they have a chart for that .

I compared a 1980 FXWG and a 1976 FXE struts for bolt hole spacing.
The side plates look interchangeable. The side plate bolt hole spacing measured identical using a tape measure.
There is a difference in the struts though, the FXWG struts are about 1 1/2" to 1 5/8" longer with an additional hole for a fender fastener just aft of the side plate.

Most of the old shovel sides will interchange what I found to be the issue is where the bitch bar sits , forward or to the rear that seems to be the real difference . I went a through few finding a set to match up the rear on mine and get the bar to look right .

Thanks for the input. I kinda thought the holes were close or the same but don't have an old wide glide around to compare with directly. I seem to recall the WG uprights tend to sit a bit further back than the Superglide. What did you end up putting on yours? I may end up having a set made custom.

Man I have no idea to be honest $10 swap meet specials , check the pic maybe give a model to go from . I did a couple things with my setup I can run the old hardbags and the frames will bolt up no problem and I have a set of softtail removable leather bags with the standoffs mounted also so it's a bit different but suits my needs .
