Points or electric
I have a 77 and a 74. Both are in hardtail frames and pretty bare bones. The 77 has burned up a crane hi 4 and now has a dyna s in it. Ive been running it for a few years now and its always been a pretty fussy start. Its a kick only,when it had electric start it started pretty hard then too. I just want it to start easier and have had people tell me to switch it back to points. The 74 I am just starting to put together and it has points. Just looking for opinions on the advantage of points or electric ignition systems. Thanks

Isn't the ignition if they are playing games starting , Dyna S systems are more forgiving than points ever though of being . I've been putting them in shovels a lotta years and nobody has gone back to points yet , run it my 93" 12-1 comp shovel and kicker is the only way I know she'll start .

maybe what carb the bike has would be a help -- and the jetting -- open or muffled pipes -stock cam or other - plug type -- once again i will still say autolite XS-65 .040 gap -- did ya ever get around to those TB??

Not yet been swimming in a gator pond the last week , found a job completely by accident I'm supposed to start Tuesday so the old lady decides the place , my shed and the yard has to be done NOW because her parents are due in 6 weeks and my door has looked like .25 night at the ***** house I've had so many people show up in need all of a sudden it's ridiculous , try having 3 old local gals on scooters show with tires all at once because you helped one once . Been like that ..............................
