Default poll question about FLH verses FLT

who perfers a shovel FLT verses a FLH shovel

FLH 74 or 80 inch 4 speed ridged mount verses rubber mount 80 inch 5 speed both chain drives

my question is would you own an 81 FLT instead of any year FLH

Personally, I'm just not a big fan of frame mounted fairings. I just like the looks of the FLH Electraglide versus the FLT. Once I changed out the rear sprocket to the same gearing as a stock FLT, I had the same touring characteristics. The rigid mount just lets me know when something needs attending to. When things are set up properly, I can cruise between 60 and 80 all day and it feels like it's rubber mounted. I know people who swear by the FLT's, but give me an '81 or 82 FLH80 Electraglide any day.

Had an 80 FLT for a while and an 82 FXR which I still regret selling I'm not a bagger man at all , I'll run bags & a small windshield for road trips . Given a choice it would be the FLH , the LT's just had too much crap crammed into the fairing and were some ugly ducks without them .

I have a 4 speed '79 FLH 80" and a 1983 FXRT 5 speed rubber mounted...(and a '78 FXE chopper, but that does not count)... I'd go FLT all the way, 5 speed rubber moiunted... perfect touring bike (after the FXRT shovel of course)

ask me when i'm done. this '80 flt is my first big twin,
yet in pieces littering my shop like a dismembered
elephant...but i'm getting the shovel vibe.

good thing the po swapped the tank and shark nose
for a road king tank and aftermarket batwing;
imo a saving grace for its esthetics.
