The lifters that I removed had a single flat on one side of the lifter for the anti rotation pin to sit up against. I'm installing S&S lifters which have flats on either side of the lifter. I'm assuming that I can put the lifters in and use either of the two flats per lifter. Is that correct? Wasn't sure if there was a reason to having two flats per. I'm pretty sure I know the answer but have messed up before making assumptions about what I thought was the obvious.
Doesn't matter which way the oil hole is oriented; it will fill and pressurize the oil galley from either direction......
This is what I've always heard also.

Oil hole is open to reduced diameter area (shown in green). Oil "passage" is "sealed" at areas shown in red. Pressure makes oil find every hole (and controlled "leaks") it can

Makes sense. I already positioned the lifter oil hole towards the engine as per the manual but still good to know it doesn't matter. Anyone know the reason the manual directs you to position the hole inboard?

I can only assume they feel the need to state something. I've removed lifters from stock engines and found them both ways, one engine had 3 lifters facing in and one facing out, guy must have been on a bender before he installed the lifters.
