Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
I ran it with my buddies bike tonight. He has an '04 with a ton of work to his engine, and he couldn't keep up. His is a 96" but, has high compression pistons and woods cams (I believe tw-6) he's also 100 lbs lighter than me. I believe his work is more extensive, as his jugs were sent to Zippers for machine work. My other buddy has a Victory, with a 106, and he wasn't even in the picture. So, needless to say, I'm very pleased.
Sorry for the resurrection, but I decided to go with the 4" Rineharts, and without even tuning it, there's a massive difference in low end torque. Fuel Moto has my exact set up, with the Power Vision Tuner, making 95/112! But the kicker is, that it hit's 100lbs. at 2500 RPM's. I ordered the tuner, and will have it on Tuesday.
last week I installed a set of woods 222 cams, due to weather, have not been able to ride much but they do feel stronger at low rpm where I spend most of my time, also valve train is quiet with S&S premium lifters and quickee push rods.
I have always had great luck with the tman 555tqster. Tuned over 200 of them for a Springfield shop alone. Between 110-115tq and 100 by 2500. Anywhere between 95-100 hp. For just a cam bolt in.
Running Woods 555's a few years now in my '13 Limited with adjustable pushrods. V&H Power Duals for '09 app having 18mm O2 ports at heads and Dynojet PCV and Autotuner used after install to tweek program.
I have no problems fully loaded riding 2 up lugging through town at 30 MPH in 6th gear around 1200 RPM's. Will pull up with no hesitation
I have no problems 1 up 55MPH WOT 6th gear to pass easily climbing past 80MPH
I have no problems keeping up with my buddies 110 CVO Ultra 0-120 MPH
And I really like the idle lope that was not present with stock cams
