Do they make a shock like the 422 for stock ride hieght? I want the ground clearance. I'm putting the stock springs back in the forks. That Harley lowering kit for the front . . . is JUNK !!! If you hit the smallest bump while lightly on the frt brake, it will bottom out. I'm only 180, so I'm not like your 300 lb "friend".
If you are lowering I would absolutely recommend White Bros or some other spr/kit for the front.
So they're adjustable liek the Prog/Susp Kit you buy to lower your bike with stock shocks?
Main point being, they do ride better than stock shocks? If so, I'll take a set, to-go please.

I still use my stock jiffy stand with rear down about 1 1/2" and front down 1 1/4", just have to be straight up or even leaned right a bit to put it down. Once down it has been just fine and plenty secure.
Finally rode 2 up with my new 422s. Remarkably, she (not featherweight) immediately commented on the much smoother ride is. I swear it rode better 2 up than solo! She has her own tricked up 1200C so we will seldom ride 2 up but it did certainly show the 422s superiority.
I pulled out the wallet this morning, Washington squinted because he hadn't seen the sun in so long, and ordered the 422s. Mine was lowered 1 1/2" with the bolts. The ride was just too firm and too close to getting slammedout of travel for me. I now regret, via 20/20 hindsight, not going straight to shocks or air. You may have noticed my posts over the last month about pothole encounter fracturing 2 vertebrae. Bolts were less $ for sure but if you hire labor out then gap closes significantly. Be assured I will post results of same day/load/road comparison. Still plan to keep it lowered 1 1/4-1 1/2" because of looks and my wee legs. Already have front down 1 1/2 with progressive springs. That was low parts $ and high labor $ since I had indy shop do it. Current users of 413/422 do you have results of tweaking preload settings you may have tried. I Usually ride alone at 195# , 5% or less 2 up, wife has her own Harley. I Like a soft ride...don't we all.....but sure want to avoid that sudden stoppage due to hitting the rubber stops hard. Should be installed/sorted out by early next week I will share my OPINIONS. John
I too am at home now nursing a fractured back from my shocks bottoming out. It happened Fathers day. I took 5 advil today and rode to my dealer, wallet out, ordered Progressive 422's for my Standard. We're shooting for a Saturday install.
I will post my comments on the ride (back willing) ASAP.
