I had a set on a Street Glide they work great no wind in the face . Yes I think the motor runs a little hotter . I never had a problem a lot of people run them .
I don't live in Tampa anymore but I have the deflectors on my heritage and the weather here gets plenty hot.
My oil temp in stop and go on a hot day runs around 225 to 250 degrees, actually about what it did without the deflectors.
The biggest difference I can see is that with them on I get a little more heat on my right thigh area, I plan to change that before next summer with a captain itch crotch cooler.
I took my deflectors off for a couple days this summer to see if it made any difference on engine heat, oil temp and I could see no noticeable difference.
The biggest difference was the nasty wind buffeting, back on they went and much nicer riding!
