Default Speed-o "0" while at speed

I had something happen that was a little weird to me. While slowing down coming into town last Friday I noticed the speed-o go to zero but the bike was still running. Then when I came almost to a stop at the light the bike died. I coasted to the shoulder and then fired the bike up with no problem and everthing seemed to run fine.

Then on the way in to work when slowing from 55 down to about 45 I was watching the speedo and it zeroed out again. Then after a few second the speed-o goes back to working as normal.

What model and year bike?

I had exactly the same issue with my 2012 Fatboy.
I started out and noticed the speedometer was not working. Then when coming to a stop the bike died. Started right up and the problem was intermittent. When coming to a stop I had to pull in the clutch and rev the motor a little to keep it running.

Harley replaced my BCM (Body Control Module) not the ECM.
There was a recall on the BCM for years around 2010 or 2011.
Mine happened to not be included in the recall but happened while still under warranty.
The issue I believe was a manufacturing issue with the sealing of the unit.

Try cleaning the electronic sensor on the tranny, it may be full of shavings. If that doesn't work you may need to replace it

Sounds like the speed sensor. Its on top of the trans, right side. Clean/replace. Worst part is the connector which is behind the splash guard. To confirm, check your turn sigs. If they don't self cancel, then it's def the speed sensor.
