I just picked up my 2007 Train and everything works great except the Security System. I paid for a security system and I have my proximity FOBs, but they don't seem to work. I suspect the FOBs were not properly married to the bike because the bike starts without a FOB nearby and never seems to arm the security system. I was able to put in a PIN, but system won't arm. Since my "dealer" is Military overseas car sales, I'll have to take this to a Japanese Harley dealer to get this fixed.
Does anyone know what is involved in linking the FOB to the bike and how long should it take a dealer to do this?
It doesn't take very long, only a couple minutes at most. Not sure how it's done, they won't let anyone watch. Because you can't look, it must be a matter of entering a secret combination via ignition and signal switches and anyone who knows the code could reset the system to their fob.
That's a good point about the FOB battery. However, bike will start with no FOB and the security system won't arm. I'm thinking the bike was never married to the FOB so it acts like it doesn't have a security system.
I'm taking it to the shop when it opens and will post with what causes this problem when I find out.

I hope that "secret combination" doesn't get posted on the Internet someday. If it did, all you would need is a FOB to take anyHD you want!
As I suspected, the security system was never set up. The bike didn't "know" it had a security system. Its good to go now. Also - one of the FOB batterys was bad from the factory.
