Default Already researching my second winter project

This may get expensive by Spring. Just did the beach bars last weekend, now looking at chroming the forks and adding Progressive monotubes. The first two questions: as I have a deluxe, don't I already have the upper part of the forks chromed from the factory?; is there any reason to prefer stock height or the lowered version of the progressives other than the height difference? I've read over the service manual and quite a few post, and it appears to me that this project a reasonable do it yourself project like the beach bars were. Agree?

Yes you will be able to do this job yourself. I went with the 1" drop on mine as I have the back lowered and like the more level look. Your bike does already have chrome cowbells on it so you will not need to change them unless they won't polish up nice. I used ***** Shiny as my source of chrome lowers (exchange program) and am really happy with the quality of their work. Here are a few pics of my bike after the install.

As always, don't hesitate to call if you have questions or need anything, you have my number!

I do. Thanks for all your advice. That's a pretty radical take down on that top picture! It'll be a while before I try that one. Will it matter if I drop the front BEFORE I do the shotgun shocks to drop the back? I might wait several weeks before I start phase 3. Any problems riding it that way?

No it won't matter if you do the front before the rear...
