After examining my AC more closely, I now realise that the Big Sucker's backing plate means that I can't use one of the bolt-on kits. I don't really want to be drilling/tapping my existing backing plate in case I screw it up. Even worse if whatever I've used to block the existing breather pathways in the backing plate works itself loose and gets sucked in! Beyond cutting some of the hollow stand-offs from the backing plate, I wonder whether it is possible to get a replacement backing plate that allows you to use the normal breather banjos?
(same backing plate as BigSucker), but it's not worth the effort/expense
unless there's some outstanding reason you want to do it, get the
DIY air kit from autozone (look it up) or the DKC one and be done with it.
In my case, I WANTED to run the Derby Sucker just so I could put any
custom TwinCam Derby Cover (clutch cover) on it to look different...
So here's a few more of the backing plate just in case you were interested
in how I did it. Note again, this is NOT cost-effective, I spent more on
AN fittings, braided hose, and catch-can than the cost of switching to
a different intake...
And where's what it looks like on the OL's Iron (yes, I've done this mod twice).

it is not just oil u need to worry about. It is the hot oxygen depleted air that is being recycled into the motor. Colder air more oxygen means more power. Hot air low oxygen means less power (which is what u r doong without external breathers
