CAN I REMOVE BUFFLERS FROM THIS EXHAUST?? It sounds ok but not very vigorous. Pla help, I can't find schematics for this part so I dont want to pull or push something I'm not supposed to. Thanks guys!!!!
You can take them out. I have the same ones on my bike and removed the baffles. There is a small screw underneath each pipe that holds the baffles in place. Remove them and pull them out...easy as that. If they are hard to slide out you'll need to get a long screwdriver and gently pry them out. Mine came out relatively easy. Just know though that you will have to re-jet the carb or re-tune if your bike is fuel injected. I was lucky because my bike had the V&H fuelpack installed so I just had to look up the codes and re-program.
Uh.. Those are Vance & Hines. Screamin Eagle is HD brand. (Unless I'm missing something).
I would call V&H and see if they can help you. Should be a part number stamped somewhere underneath or maybe they can tell just from the pictures.
I will say looking at those pictures, that if there is a heat shield over the actual mufflers, then it looks like a welded nut at the top of the baffle where a bolt may be hiding under the shields.

Good Luck.
Ooh ya...forgot about that. The screws underneath go into the chrome inner muffler pipe. You will have to remove the heat shields on the mufflers to get to the screws. They are only held on by exhaust clamps so remove the heat shields then take out the screws underneath and then the baffles will slide out.

My bike have Screaming' Eagle Street performance tuner. Do I need to retune after I remove the buffles? And can I do it myself with the software that is downloadable from HD or do I have to bring to the dealer? Thanks again!
Big difference man...mine are loud as hell w/o the baffles which is what I was after. On the tuner...not sure because I don't know anything about the SE tuner. Mine has the V&H and all I had to do was go to their website and choose my mufflers w/o baffles and it gave me the specific codes that I needed. Punched them in and it runs great.
