Hey all! So I have an issue with my 08 deluxe. It won't start on first initial start up.

I turn the **** to IGN, flip the toggle switch to RUN, wait for the electrical/fuel system to prime and for the yellow indicator light to turn off, then I press start. But it doesn't start, so I have to flip the switch back to off, then back to run then press start and it will turn on like normal.

This seems to be happening on every start up. I had an 06 sportster before this so I'm quite familiar on knowing how to start the motorcycle.

Any ideas what this could be or am I doing something different? Before I take it in for diagnostics since I have warranty on it. I'd rather find out first for peace of mind

 

If you're flipping the handle bar toggle to make it work, I'm not sure. But, if you're turning off the main ignition too, then I lean toward the main ignition switch being bad.

 

Since you have a warranty on it, you might as well use it.

 

I'm only flipping the toggle on the handle bar to get it to work.

 

That's the plan of course, but I want to find out first before taking it.
