Default 32 ford tail light issues

I recently installed a 32 Ford rear tail light/licenses plate kit on my 2007 Night Train. Chopped the rear fender removed the stock tail light and turn signals. after installing the rear tail light/break light I'm only getting the tail light to work and no break light. Ive checked all the pins and wires...Any ideas of what could be the issue?

Maybe try buying the breaklight module kit from harley. It's fairly inexpensive and super easy to install. That would be my first thought on getting it to operate properly. I have one on my train and everything works as it should.

I had a similar issue when I installed 59 Caddy tail lights on my Heritage, turned out to be a weak ground in my case. Do you have standard or LED lights? Sometime on the old standard type bulbs the connectors can become corroded and need a little cleaning.

Yup, bad ground I'd guess. Also seen a few repops with cheap contacts that need bent more to contact the bulb better.

I have the standard.

The light didn't come with a ground wire, it said it wasn't needed. I'm going to ground the light and see what happens.

Thanks for the help, ill let you know how it goes.

If you have new paint you won't get a good ground. It is always a good idea to run a separate ground, it will be the black wire in the connector.
