So I have a 2012 Harley Softail Blackline. Filled the thing up with gas. Rode 40 miles. Now gas light is on and the DTE reads Lo Range... Which normally means I have 10 miles to go. But tank still full. Is this a fuse possibly?
I just fixed this same problem today. the connection from the fuel gauge to the bike (under the tank) was not solid. I had to disconnect it and push the leads further into the connector. This was of course after I had installed a new flush mount guage. maybe this is a place to start in your situation.

I think that's a good place to look too. I've been having the same trouble. I bought my bike with that blue LED gauge. It's been inconsistence from the day I bought it, along with the low fuel light. Many times, the fuel light was still on right after filling up. I was under the tank fiddling with the connector to the gauge, and it just came apart on its own. Low fuel light has been on ever since.
