I rarely ride at night, so this problem may have occurred in the past and I did not realize it.
I was riding my 2012 Harley Heritage Softail Classic at night with the low beam and auxiliary lights on. On two different occasions, the lights got brighter and the speedometer light went out completely, except that the red circular "electrical system" light just to the right of the speedometer needle was lit. After a short time, the front lights dimmed again, the speedometer light came on, and the red electrical system light went out.
Any ideas what this might mean or indicate? Like I said, this may happen during my daytime riding but I just am unaware of it.
I'd check batt. Connections make sure clean and tight. Then I would check your charging sys. The lights getting brighter could mean voltage regulator is failing.
