Default Lights dimming
I was on my way home tonight and the headlight would dim then go bright. Thought it might have something to do with the rpm but it didn't, it didn't change with the rpm. I just put in a replacement light with the H4 bulb....is there not enough amps to run the light or am I having trouble with the charging system. I checked out the voltage when I bought the bike 2 months ago.. she's putting out 14 volts. By the way this is an 87 1100XL.

stator, battery etc all good? do you use a trickle charger?
just realized that i dont really know anything about the 87 model... mainly posting up to move this back up--

Another biker mechanic said it was the voltage regulator. Every bike he knows of does it not to worry. I just don't want to get stuck somwhere

Mine doesnt doit. Could be a bad ground even.
