I have a Dunlop Elite on the back of my Fatboy, and it has 3k miles on it, still looking like new. No traction problems too. I have a matching front on the way.
bike only has 2k moles on it. so i will have the front for quite a while. so i am leaning towards the stocker just because i don't love mixing tire compounds.

What happened? Why are you replacing a tire w/ just 2K on it?
A buddy mentioned this to me - whatever you get, make sure it's still under warranty from the manufacturer.
Most manufacturers warranty their tires two ways - either a few years from the date they were sold or a few years from the date they were manufactured. The build date is molded into the sidewall.
Lot's of times, retailers will sell tires dirt cheap because the tires' warranties are getting close to expiring - or already expired!
So, make sure that screaming tire deal is actually for NEW tires...
I just slapped a Metzeler me880 marathon 260/40r18 on my Breakout.
Really nice difference, very noticable, fills in the fender nicely.
I can shoot up some pics later if ya like.
Handles like a dream.
