Quoting myself from earlier in this post. I'm such a hypocrite....

I bought my new 2015 Breakout last Wednesday! I got it for 16K (after trade in) and 1.9% financing through HD.

Couldn't help myself! I finally got my Breakout... Now if it would stop raining.

Congratulations!!!

I will stay away from the dealer... I recently replaced the clutch and ordered new wheels for the Sportster... I don't need another bike, I don't need another bike, I don't need another bike!

I've got both the Slim and Breakout. Had the Slim the longest and have done a fair bit of work on her. Had the BO for a little over a year now, great bike too. The rear tire size difference is what sets the two bikes apart - they handle completely differently to each other.

I tend to ride the Slim on longer runs, she's a comfortable bike to ride. The BO I ride on shorter rides, it's a beautiful bike to cruise around on, specially since I had the apes fitted.

You won't go wrong with whichever you choose - love both of mine.

Good luck with your decision.

Harley Davidson; Softail; Breakout; FXSB; Burleigh Bars; Highball; Apes; High Ball; Chop Z; Rear End Fix; Legend Air Shocks, Vance and Hines Staggered Short Shots

Haha, I know. No, it's just the rim of wheel shinning in the light.

Take my opinion for what it's worth, OP, which is a grain of salt, as I'm a newbie motorcyclist with my first bike.

I bought a used Slim--2013. Previous owner put short, loud Vance & Hines pipes on it as well as a big windshield that is quick remove. The Slim was the ONLY bike in the dealership I could get my feet planted on the floor with. It's a big bike for me, though: I'm hardly 5'2" with a 27" inseam on a good day, female if you couldn't tell, and if I need to move the bike in tight places and I can't power through it, the bike is going to drop (and it has, many times, on me and I have the bruises to prove it all over my body). I try my darnedest to move around that 700 lbs bike but I figure the clutch control/friction zone practice is worth it.

My boyfriend is around your height and weight and he rode the Slim home for me from the dealership. He has a 2015 ElectraGlide Ultra Limited Low and he is STILL talking about how much he loves my Slim and I've had the bike home for almost 3 weeks now. I mean, he's calling it "his bike" and threatens to steal it from me every day...I have to remind him his name is nowhere on the paperwork but I'd gladly add him if he shared the finances on it.

I will be replacing the stock seat as we plan on doing road trips once I get my license (still have my learner's permit) and putting rear passenger pegs and a better passenger pillion on it (it has the small, 6" one that will probably give you 'roids). I want to put saddlebags on it but that means relocating the rear lights and side license plate, which I DON'T want to do because that just ruins the vintage look of the bike. I'm not even going to put a sissy bar on the back, despite the luggage possibilities, because I don't like the look (may do a Kuryakyn Plug 'N Play one, though).

So I clearly voted Slim all the way, but I'm totally biased based on my physical stature. Though my boyfriend loves it too and he had no problem with his height on it; he looked great on it, actually even better than on his EG! My bike is Vivid Black but that Sand Camo Denim color is still calling my name...maybe in a couple years I can find one used.

Why? With your experience level I'd recommend against carrying passengers until you are able to better handle it. Take off the passenger seat and forget about the pegs for a while. If they aren't there you won't be tempted, or able, to carry a passenger.

Learn to ride for yourself before you put a passenger into the mix.

Have fun & stay safe.
