How tall are you? How much do you weigh? What is your inseam? What is your waist size? Overall build?
If it had to be those two, the Slim gets my vote.
But if you are a 300 pound 6' 6" tall gorilla, you will look and feel silly on it.
Maybe you can put pan head style rocker boxes on a Slim. I think they make them for twin cams.
6ft .. 220lbs.. A Softail is a Softail tho there all pretty much the same frame just different parts.. You can make any stock Softail fit you with a couple Mods so thats a wash..Probably black the engine out as far as Rocker boxes..
Had one for the weekend in Spain whilst my FB was in the shop.
Handling and feel of what the tyres are doing is superb. If you ride a slim you will buy one.
Don't fit the wide rear tyre you'll just spoil the handling.

I dont want to spoil that Handling.,, But i dont think going up 1 tire size to a 150mm to fill the fender a little better will make any difference but cosmetic.. A 150mm is still pretty skinny buy todays standards..

Agree.. that will not make much difference to the handling, but it will certainly look much better with the filled fender.
Here's the bigger tire. It rode great today. Diggin mucho.
...D401 150/80B16 Blackwall is what I got. Same tread pattern as stock tire in the front.
You can also get the GT502 150 Blackwall for the Slim, but that's a Screamin Eagle tire that cost like 40 bucks more and I didn't like the logo or tread pattern to be honest. Plus, I would have had to wait a few days for it.
Same exact size tires, neither requiring mods on the Slim for your rear fender.
Didn't read all of the posts and maybe someone already asked, just curious as to why you would want to give up that beautiful RK with the cruise, 6 gallon tank, large bags etc for the Slim.. (by the way if I had to choose between the 2, I would get the Slim).
Stopped at the Dealer tonight quick.. Sat on the Slim and the Breakout and went over them quite extensively.. As of right now (may change) the Slim is calling to me.. I was alot more at home on the Slim. It was right next to a Fatboy Lo which is the bike i traded in for my Road King and i liked the Slim way more then the Lo even. And i loved my Lo when i had it.. The Slim is alot more comfy then the Breakout in stock form and with an added 2 up better seat it will be even better i suspect.. I see alot more custom potential with the Slim as well.. So as of right now im most likely going with the Slim.. I think? Lol...
I want a Breakout badly! However, I can't justify the price on this bike. 20K with freight, set up, tt&l. IMO, the breakout should start at 16K not the 18,600 (STARTING AT PRICE) HD wants for it. It's overpriced which is why I keep waiting for a used one to show up at my dealer.

ALL HD bikes are overpriced.
I was looking at a 2015 Street Glide and it's almost Ł20,000.
Add another Ł2000 for a decent seat, pipes, filter and SERT and that is serious money. After all that, I bet the brake reservoirs still leak.

Completely agree.. As all Harley's carry a rediculous price tag i feel the Breakout is far over priced for what it is... $16k as you said is were it should be.. Harley prices there bikes based on what they think the public will buy up not so much what it comes it. Its a Softail with a fat tire dont mean it should cost $19.5k otd.. Im actually shocked how many sales guys bash them were i live at 3 different Harley dealers by me.. They all bitch about the handling. It actually shocks me.. you would think they would try to sell the more expensive bike.. But they dont they all praise the cheaper Slim and how well it handles.. Kinda odd. They all really love it..
