Me? Let's see... I actually have a spreadsheet of all the changes I've made...

Foot Pegs HD#50370-04, Shifter Peg HD#34689-04, & Brake Peg HD#42710-04.
I changed the passenger pegs too, which was probably a waste of money for an old Geezer like me - but you never know.

Goes to show to the OP that he can't go wrong with either one. Or, as some fortunate forum members have done, have both!

The only motorcycle that I have ridden with a wide tire is my brother's Suzuki Boulevard M109R. I am guessing that the feeling of the BO will be like that. In terms of ridding a bike with a 240 wheel.

Anyway, it is great to have choices. I need to rent a BO just for the heck of it. I hate to waste my sales guy's time if I know that I am not going to buy one for now... best just to rent it for the weekend.

I bought a used Slim--2013. Previous owner put short, loud Vance & Hines pipes on it as well as a big windshield that is quick remove. The Slim was the ONLY bike in the dealership I could get my feet planted on the floor with. It's a big bike for me, though: I'm hardly 5'2" with a 27" inseam on a good day, female if you couldn't tell, and if I need to move the bike in tight places and I can't power through it, the bike is going to drop (and it has, many times, on me and I have the bruises to prove it all over my body). I try my darnedest to move around that 700 lbs bike but I figure the clutch control/friction zone practice is worth it.

My boyfriend is around your height and weight and he rode the Slim home for me from the dealership. He has a 2015 ElectraGlide Ultra Limited Low and he is STILL talking about how much he loves my Slim and I've had the bike home for almost 3 weeks now. I mean, he's calling it "his bike" and threatens to steal it from me every day...I have to remind him his name is nowhere on the paperwork but I'd gladly add him if he shared the finances on it.

I will be replacing the stock seat as we plan on doing road trips once I get my license (still have my learner's permit) and putting rear passenger pegs and a better passenger pillion on it (it has the small, 6" one that will probably give you 'roids). I want to put saddlebags on it but that means relocating the rear lights and side license plate, which I DON'T want to do because that just ruins the vintage look of the bike. I'm not even going to put a sissy bar on the back, despite the luggage possibilities, because I don't like the look (may do a Kuryakyn Plug 'N Play one, though).

So I clearly voted Slim all the way, but I'm totally biased based on my physical stature. Though my boyfriend loves it too and he had no problem with his height on it; he looked great on it, actually even better than on his EG! My bike is Vivid Black but that Sand Camo Denim color is still calling my name...maybe in a couple years I can find one used.
Nice!! That does say alot.. Sometimes people get on or test ride a different bike that is not there own and hate it.. But ive heard this from many that the Slim handles and rides Amazing.. I havent test rode one yet but to be honest ive owned 6 Harley's and 2 of them were Softails and the Softails were my favorites so im sure the Slim will be great.. I dont understand why you would have to relocate the rear lights for passenger pegs? You shouldnt have too.. And dont let your boyfriend steal your bike..Lol

Yes, it's a bit different and a bit intimidating at first, especially coming from, say, a Low Rider & Sporty like I did. It's that first "holy sh#t" in the first tight turn that causes people to say that, but after 7K miles on mine, I wouldn't trade it for any other HD on the market (maybe a CVO BO). Once you really adapt your style to the bike, it's a gas, and cuts the turns as well as any other HD - maybe better, because the BO encourages you to lay it over 'till the pipes touch (that factory lean angle is bullsh*t, provided you change the pegs)
To me, the Slim looks like the same old stale HD regurgitated style while the Breakout looks like a new, clean design, devoid of that "your Father's bike" look.
I do agree with this to a point but it also works in reverse as well. The 2 softails ive owned where Night train with a 200mm rear tire and my Fatboy Lo with the 200mm rear tire. During that time i test rode a Night rod for the hell of it with a 240mm rear,.. To me the 240mm on the Night rod felt and handled fine with no major different.. With that being said there is only a 40mm difference between the 2 and 200mm is pretty wide in its own right compared to standard Motorcycle tires throught out the years. But when you go to a Softail that has a 144mm tire on the back from those 200mm tire bikes or wider the handling is much better and noticable hence most of the raves how well the Slim handles.. But when you go from a skinny rear tire like alot guys do from there sporties and dyna's up to a huge 240mm rear like on the Breakout it can be alot to get used to and feel much different and an adjustment phase usually is warranted.. Just like me with my CVO RoadKing i hate the high up seat height and even tho im used to it now i still prefer the low down in the weeds in the bike feel and handling of a Softail and im going to go back soon.. It is what it is and riders ride what they are used to and like.. I didnt mention it in this post but another 3rd option that still lingers in my mind besides the Breakout and the Slim is to find a barley used 2009 Night train.. I use to love my Train and to this day even with the new bikes out i feel its the best looking Harley the company has ever made for my taste period..Its just bad *** IMO.. The more i think about it it has what i like about the Slim and what i like about the Breakout combined in a way.. I love blacked out look and chrome combined and i do love the wild chopper look and wide tire look but not as big a 240mm i always thought the 200mm looked perfect without sacrificing the handling.. The train just looks long and stretched and wild... With the Breakout the rear fender looks too short and i dont like skinny center strip and single gas cap with no fuel gauge style either on the tank...Plus i have alot of memories on my train..to this day its the one i regret getting rid of the most.. Who knows.. I just need a dam Softail..

Its crazy how close this poll was over the days.. The Slim led most of the poll with the Breakout always catching up and now the Breakout leads for the first time.. Both these bikes seem like they have a passionate following and im guessing i couldn't go wrong either... Im going to take my time with deciding and wait to see what 2016 brings.. I really want to see that Olive gold color as well for the Slim..

Do you think the Breakout brings a new audience?

Oh, I refuse to let him steal it but he moved it for me last Wednesday so we could go for a quick ride together before heading up to VT 2-up on his EG, and he peeled out of my driveway with the damn thing! My neighbors were watching and I turned to them and said, "That sonuvab!tch just stole my bike!" He can play with it from time to time but now that I'm riding more (AND LICENSED WOOHOO!) he has his own toy to keep himself occupied! He did detail the Slim for me when we got back from VT, though.

Definitely no need to move anything around on the Slim for passenger pegs, and I've gotten over my initial whining about saddlebags and relocating things. I'm going to put a 2-up seat on the Slim and a sissy bar, and will just use a sissy bar bag. I need something for long trips, and I'll get over the look once I start using it and realizing how useful it will be.

Breakout has 2 more votes so far! Though it sounds like you're going to wait a little while to make a decision?

Currently I'm on an FXDC Custom, and love it. OK, suspension sucks, but stills handles much better than any Harley I have owned, other than the XR1200. If my choice was between the BO and Slim, I'd go the Slim every time. I've found I don't fit properly on any Harley with forwards, so the BO would do a number on my lower back.

I've wanted a Slim since it came out, but the additional cost beyond my Dyna, has put a stop to it's purchase. To me, a Slim with a decent seat would be a great bike to ride, for many miles. Funny, but the BO is almost my Dyna with forwards. Not worth $10K+ more than is currently owed on my Dyna. Want old skool, go Slim, want a modern Chopper, go the BO, or a possibly Wide Glide, using the Dyna frame, instead of the Softail one.
