Oil Temperature
And it gave me an excuse to fire up the old Primus 71!
Anyway, it was spot-on accurate! Just over 210 degrees F in boiling water.
For the record, my Softail Slim (V&H shortshots with quiet baffles, S&S air cleaner, Fuelpak3 and H-D Oil Cooler) usually runs at around 200 with 240 possible in stop-start traffic on a hot day.

BTW, I have a 2016 Heritage, and the Drag Specialties website says their DS330039 temp gauge is for model years 2000-2015.
Any chance Harley changed the length of the oil tube on the 2016's making it longer (taller) that earlier years? The diameter is the same, but if the 2016's have a longer tube, then the gauge is not getting in deep enough. Eh? I did see oil on the tip of the DS Temp Gauge, though, at the cold mark. So, I assumed it was the right fit..
Inquiring minds want to know, and I know Harley likes to make little changes from time to time in secret, it seems! :-)
Thanks, Joe
