George - thanks for the pics and the help! Hopefully this will help smooth out the ride! Anything I need to know before ordering other than the size 90/90/21? Also, you said you have a Dunlop - is that you'd recommend?

thanks,
I'll let you know how it works - thanks again!

I have 13" apes on my Train, and my average highway speed is 75mph. Yesterday, I had her up near 120 (still accelerating hard - testing purposes only), and she was solid as a rock.

Cheers!

Everybody has their own opinion on tires, and I'm sure you'll entertain a million.
Me? I like Dunlop and won't consider anything else.

I can confirm that! Clammy was behind me, and I got my bagger up to 110mph, and he just flew past me. Pretty impressive for an 88.

baknblak if you rode 985 to Fraizers you know the front end dances around on the rain grooves. When I switched to the 90/90 tire that wandering went away big time. The cornering ability of the Dunlap pretty much sucked compared to the Metzler.(sorry George). Maybe due to the size difference 80/90 compared to the 90/90 of the Metzler but I don't think so as the tread patterns are very different. I have the spoke wheel with the Metzler you're welcome to try. Won't take 5 mins to change.I'll pm my # to you.

Sounds like we got some North Atlanta folks that need to get together for a ride; I live in East Cobb and bought my Fatboy at Killer Creek.

I never said the stock Dunlop front tire didn't suck. Any ribbed pattern front tire will follow irregular road patterns. When I switched to the E-3, all of that went away.
I like Dunlops because they are the stickiest of the bunch. They may not wear as good, but I would rather have traction.

Yeah, we do need to get the GA crew together! I'm 10 mins from K. Creek, and 20-25 from Fraziers' - and I do know those grooves on 985! I'm looking forward to finding a new tire and picking up some speed!

There must be something wrong with that bike, mine 06 is as smooth as silk on the highway.
Are you riding on any grooved pavement? Mine will feel sorta skittish on that type road in those cases.
