Well.....I'm starting to fell like a dumb ***.Just looked the bike over and found no balance wieghts front or rear.Is this common or does the wheels/tires need to be checked for balance?
I didn't have any wheel weights on my stock wheel set, but that doesn't mean that your set is balanced right.
I would have your dealer check it.. It won't cost you a dime and you might find the source of your problem.
I'll have my dealer check it out. Glad I'm not the only guy on here w/the issues. I'll get to the dealer tomorrow - I'll let you know what I find out about the balance.
I took the bike to the dealer yesterday - wanted to get this solved before I left for MBBW - appears the problem was tire pressure - I was pretty low in the front. I don't have a weight on the back and they said that may or may not be a problem (that was lot's of help!). I put some air in the front (ironically, service was helping me, told me I had too low pressure in the front, then pointed me to a gas station a mile down the road that had an air pump for .75 to use! I really thought they could have thrown the air in for me!). Put the air in and rode for about 4 hours and it was night and day. Still moves a bit - I'm sure b/c of the apes, but they are staying. I hit 70 mph and felt like 40. Hopefully, the problem is solved.
thanks for all the help! Hopefully, I'll meet some of you @ MBBW this weekend!

bak n black,Glad to here your bike is doing better now.Yep..mine is much better after setting the front tire pressue.the rear was ok.You'd think the dealer would have checked mine at PDI time, considering I've only had the bike a 'lil over a month.Oh well..lesson learned again.....never assume.
You know my dad always says when all else fails or you want to make a statement, write a letter. It shows that it bothered you enough to be serious and you want them to know it. Ihaven't doneit but something like that would probably **** me off enough. Try to keep composure, I know it's hard but makes you look better. Write one to their main office, not your local dealer. That's bull$h!t. "Tire weight may or may not be the problem." Are you kidding me? OMFG! Typical stealer, find the first obvious thing wrong and consider it problem solved. Send you on your way feeling like an idiot, while they shake their head. What is the deal with them dealers? I just don't understand. There is a place down the road from my house that sells second hand motorcycles, dirtbikes, and paintball supplies. But their service guy has been excellent to me, he works on all motorcycles. They're putting new front and rear Metzler 880's on my bike. I asked him how much and he said bring in the bike he'll remove the wheels and install new tires, balance them, and reassemble, for $300. I think it's a good deal. Some other place actually recommended him after I tould them I'm NOTgoing to HD. HHEEEWWW, sorry, just had to vent. I hope youcan find someone to help.Either way hope everything works out right.
