tripometer/odometer

how could odometer show 6k miles and tripometer show 18k ??

shouldnt odometer show higher miles than tripometer ?

resetting tripometer the odometer should always show more miles than trip only thing I can figure is original miles were reset somehow. which I think would be illegal to do.

Would it be possible for one to be in kilometers and the other in miles and you just need to press something or do something to put it back to the correct units?

The odometer shows whole miles only and tripmeters will usually include tenths of a mile. So, your odometer is showing 6000 miles and the tripmeter is showing 1800.0
