Default Replacing lower fork sliders

Has anyone ever replaced their lower fork sliders on the Deluxe for chrome ones. I'm looking to buy the chrome ones and wanted to know if its something I can do myself. If not, how much is labor to get them put in by the dealer.
Thanks.

Hey HarleyDeluxe...vertigo14 is right! You can do this yourself if you're somewhat competent and comfortable wrenching your HD, have some basic hand tools and a few special ones, as well as the time and patience to do it. There are several threads posted about the entire job on the forum. Save some $$$, do it yourself!

Good luck!

Steve

I know there is a thread on here with a step by step explanation of putting them on. I just bought some and I am ok mechanically speaking, but my brother is a mechanic and we have toyed with the idea of putting on the lower fork sliders ourselves.

not hard to do. you dont have to mess with the spring. use the s.e. heavy duty fork oil . really smooths out the ride.
