Default License plate options-Slim

Looking at buying a Slim but I really don't like the side-mounted license-plate holder that is stock. Any ideas or mods to relocate this to another location, even onto the rear fender. Thanks.

I just unbolted the plate holder and re-assembled it vertically. Looks better than sticking way out horizontally.
Some have axle mounted holders and others have fender mounted ones - maybe they will chime in. Keep in mind that if you remove the plate light , the left tail light will be shorter than the right unless you buy a replacement from a different bike.

As Misterslim stated above, the stock bracket is designed so that you can run a plate horizontally or vertically. In Wisconsin, the law states it HAS to be horizontal. Laws may be different in Texas. I like the look of a vertical plate, but I'd prefer to avoid the roadside conversation.

I hated the original bracket location because it just sticks way out and looks totally out of place.

Harley makes a kit that allows you to move the plate to the end of the fender. It's clean. Bolt on bracket under the fender, and remove the original one. Don't know if the new stalk for the turn signal is included or not...

I moved mine down to the axle. Fortunately, I had the replacement stalk for the turn/brake light from a take-off from a Lo, but I know that part is available through the dealership as well.

Others have mounted them on swingarm, fender struts, riveted the plate on a swingarm bag...

In order to be legal in any of the 50 states, I think you have to have a light on the plate.

Check out the Slim photos thread and you will see a number of options...

I used a bracket from road six custom. It was $30 or their about. It is axle mounted and way better than the stock setup. If you need light on the plate custom dynamics sells led tag bolts for a very reasonable price. I've never used them, but they look pretty slick on the website.

I ordered a CnC bracket for mine it was like 10 bux. you can kinda see it here:

I cut the stock holder with a grinder because you will have different length turns when you remove the stock plate holder.
