how "limited" are the new softail S models?
anyone has a rough estimate on how many of this S models are they planning on building?
If you do miss your chance, just wait until the 2017 models are announced and there will be plenty of low mileage ones on the market.
The dealer said they have one in matte black coming in shortly then nothing till December. Are they hyping it? I don't know.

I could have called it Black Denim but it is matte. They are making Vivid Black and Black Denim in the Fatboy S.http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...l#!three-sixty
I'm skeptical about HD putting SE motors in standard models though. They will likely go to 110" motors for most bikes within a couple years, but more of a standard version. Just my opinion. It seems that putting SE stuff in standard models might cut into aftermarket sales. I only say this because my Slim S motor has plenty of power and I'm considering to even leave the pipes stock )although getting rid of the cat converters will let it run cooler.)
Here is the ST120 specs from the 2016 aftermarket catalogue.

One thing that I just stumbled across is that the SE Street Cannon Slip-Ons are not shown as applicable to the Slim S and Fat Boy S, but they show applicable to the standard 2016 models of each bike. Because I was looking into Slip-Ons, I asked the "Chrome guy" at he dealer about which mufflers I could use since none showed up in the applicability list. We thought that
Maybe the S models had something different in the fitment. He called HD tech and asked the question. As it turns out, because the S model bikes come with a high flow intake, they are right on the edge of meeting EPA regulations, so HD couldn't market the SE Street Cannons as applicable sine they would push the emissions past the regulations. He said the fitment is identical, they just couldn't advertise them as legal. They'll likely show up in an aftermarket catalogue as applicable, but "for closed course use only."
It's hard to imagine that a 120 motor will be offered unless they tune it down with restricted intake and exhaust, maybe more of a standard cam (or Rushmore motors all through the lineup.
