Hey mofomojo,

I've been reading up on the fork-mounted wind deflectors. Did you add them b/c you were experiencing wind buffeting after the addition of the windshield? If so, have the deflectors reduced/eliminated the buffeting? I'm getting some serious buffeting from my batwing fairing and trying to figure out how to eliminate it. Your feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

I'll get the part number for the bib from the moco since my '14 parts manual probably doesn't list it. I see you relocated your ground wire up on the top of the pogo mount. I noticed there is a bolt available under the mount in the center of the frame, I may try that.

Hey no problem. Here's the 'bones bib part number..

#71210-08 ~$90 or so from an online-HD dealer like
BoardtrackerHD...

hope this helps,

I didn't shim it at all, it sits on the stock rubber grommet/bushing that the tank mounts on.
Its not near has high as it appears that you had to shim yours. Here's some pictures that shows some
wiring, how the crossbones bib slips under the mount & how the bib was split around
the mount, as well as a side-view of the slight gap between the tank/bib/mount.
Hope this helps,

Thanks for that. I can immediately see the problem. My bike has no rubber on top of the tank mount. This led me to attempt mounting the bracket directly on top of the frame tube.

I'm going to find the P/N of the grommet.

Not sure who you use for PN lookups, but I use RonniesHD microfiche.

#62880-00 GROMMET, FUEL TANK, UPPER REAR ~$1.00
#62881-00 GROMMET, FUEL TANK, LOWER REAR & FRONT ~$1.50
#7965 Tee Nut ~$3.00

Hope this helps,

T.

I use the microfiche part number service at Ronnies HD mentioned above.
The Crossbones bib is #71210-08. I think its actually listed as "fuel tank trim"
or similar.

The other grommet part numbers above are from a '13 FLS, just click on the
link above & it'll take you to RonniesHD microfiche website.

hope this helps,

T.

Thanks again for the help.

This site is a really good fiche for phones and tablets. It has all the new models.
http://partstream.arinet.com/Mobile/...a-CjHeew2.html

Ive checked that the 13-16 Slims use the same frame, tank and those attaching parts.

I'm just going to take it apart next week and attempt to reconfigure it. I like sitting up high, but I'm not sold in how the bracket looks at the tank.

If all else fails, I'll reverse engineer the
Lower part of the assembly and make a better fit.

Sorry Gunny. I only see the one message that I replied to last week. I re-sent it and sent my email address if you need it.

Yes. I did modify the MRC frame cover. I cut the nose off between the two sets of holes right at the front of the small pedestal on the bottom.

I think I need to cut the little pedestal off too. This will let it sit lower and allow me to put the T-Bar and Post bracket under the frame cover. The close up pictures from WKNDS helped a lot.

SLV and WKNDS, Thanks for all the info on the post seats.

SLV, I am glad WKNDS is helping you get your post sorted.

Question: I want a post mount, but I want to mount the post farther aft. After finally seeing the photos from WKNDS, it does not look possible, Even with lots of cutting and welding which I'm prepared to do, since the post would be over the battery area. Am I correct?

Would there be a place behind the battery to mount the post? (Welding an extension for the front mount, etc).

WKNDS, Your photos should be on the site that sells these seat posts!!!!

BTW, I am NOT saying your seat posts are too far forward. They look correct if you look at older Harleys. I would want to move the post aft for my riding position only.

Thanks again, Steve

Your seat post looks about like this, and is correct. My idea of mounting the post aft might look funny, but would get me in the riding position I want...
