Default Time for change

A coworker backed into my bike at work. The estimate came to $3000 to fix the bike so I talked to the coworker about it. He asked if I would take $2000 cash so he didn't have to tell his insurance company. I priced out the custom mods I wanted to do before the accident. I took the money and have ordered the parts to fix it Thanks J & P Cycles! mods include: Klockwerks 4" stretched fender and Burley Gorilla apes. I feel like a kid waiting for Cristmas.

I once got screwed by an insurance company!

Anther person backed into my truck in a parking lot. No damage to my truck and a minor scratch in the paint on the other vehicle. We exchanged information but the other party did not want to report the accident. No Problem since it was not my fault and there was no damage to my vehicle. I did however inform my insurance company just to cover my butt.

The insurance company raised my monthly premiums even though I was not at fault and no claims were filed. They stated that these facts were not a consideration and their bottom line was that I reported being involved in an accident.

Bastards!

Don't mean to be a downer but it is a mistake to settle a claim outside one's insurance company. This makes any possible subsequent claim on this matter impossible, for one thing.

Buy hey, hope it works out. As someone else here said, make sure that the frame is OK and that the whole bike is checked out.

Why $2000? should have said at least the full estimate. This way, you are the one losing here.

Everything was checked by the HD dealer and if I went with them I would only get the same stock parts I wanted to get rid of in the first place. number to the guy who hit me is a co worker. It was not his suggestion to do this it was mine. I have all the parts to fix my bike and most of them are far better quality than stock and are cooler. All the parts to fix the bike came to $1200 plus paint so I am happy with $2k. If this was a stranger it would have been thru the insurance company no questions asked.
