As an owner of a Nightrain I live in hopes that some inventive soul will develope a handle bar mounted button operated invisible force field that will keep the rain off, instead of having to use an ugly screen that doesn't in any way suit the bike looks wise, until that happens I'll just keep bending to the wind.

This is my old Night Train with a windscreen.
Well, never mind, I can not get the stupid picture to work. There is a picture in my Album though.

Thanks everyone one the inputs. I even liked the smart@ss ones since I've been debating it for some of the same reasons. I've had similar deflector on an old sporty and really like the look. Hell, I even had one on a Honda Rebel back as a freshman in high school but never seen one one a softail. I live in Washington and been caught in the rain a couple times. I'm looking for something I can duck behind when that happens.

I've had wind-deflectors on a '03 softail and now on my '12 Deluxe. They stop enough wind while not being too ugly like a big shield.

Pulled the trigger on the deflector and I can say I love it. I still need to make some adjustments and may attempt to attach it to my risers instead.

Windshield or deflectors are personal. Not for everyone, but are for some.

Beats eating bugs.

I've got that same windscreen on my Triumph Bonneville. It does "just enough" to take some of the wind pressure off my mid section to make a sizable difference.

The biggest difference took me a while to figure out. It was my hands. All of a sudden, they weren't tingling or getting tired. The screen took just enough wind blast off to where I could relax my grip. After changing bars and grips a few times on this bike trying to zero in on that elusive sweet spot, all it took was a small windscreen.

Initially, I wanted to keep the bike naked because I love the way it looks. The screen is easily removed. Even so, i just leave it on. The bike is much more pleasurable to ride.

As for the bugs RedRyder, my head is still in clean air, so there's no helmet buffeting, but I do get the occasional bug splat!
