I have a 2013 Fatboy Lo in Black Denim with the black rims. Anyone have a good recommendation for cleaning the rims? Somehow a chemical was put on the rims that left permanent streaks.
Adam's polishes deep wheel cleaner. Its hands down the best wheel cleaner I've ever seen or used. Cleans up any type of wheel and wheel surfaces, I use it on my truck's chrome wheels and my bike's aluminum wheels. Knocks the road grime, brake dust, and anything else off very easy with minimal agitation.
but if some sort of chemical has stained or damaged the paint, its likely they're ruined, and will need to be refinished.

Those wheels are powder coated so carefull with what you use. Some chemicals can make it worse. If it were my bike I would pull the wheel try and sand them down to make an even color again. If that did not work I would strip them and powder coat them a solid black. I have my rear wheel re-coated solid black and I think it looks better
I too would try a polish something like meguiars Clear Coat Safe Polishing Compound.
worth a try. If that doesn't work I would find a place that does good powder coating and ask their opinion,, good luck and let us know how it turns out. swifty
have any of you ever use baking soda and water?
Usually a cup diluted with three or four gallons of water works wonders for removing oxidation and stains on most paints and metals. Raw or chromed. It can be made into a paste for use on more stubborn spots.
Then there's Zep heavy duty degreaser is also great. I spray this **** liberally on the entire bike. Scrub hard to reach area with a toilet bowl brush and rinse. Keep rust from reappearing permanently.
Try it. If you don't like it you can all take turns shitting on me. But I know it will work, so no worries.
