My grandpa just gave me his '05 Heritage Softail Classic as part of my inheritance, said he'd rather see me enjoy it than never know if I did. I want to start modding it and making it my own and thought I'd start with the rear fender and the tail light/turn signal assembly back there. I don't really like the look of it. What have you guys done, if anything, to that area?
I'm no stranger to the modding game either, had a Honda VTX for 7 years and done everything under the sun to it.

I know what you mean about modding the rear fender/tail/turn assembly. I have a Heritage and that is one of the things I knew I would change before I even got it. I went with the Deluxe look in the rear, much more to my taste than the stock Heritage.

It was your Grandpa's bike. He had it the way he wanted it. Leave it alone, now and in the future you will have a great feeling riding, knowing his bike is the way he liked it.
