Default Heritage Design

What model year do you think the Heritage Softail is designed after? I'm thinking somewhere in the 50s. Sure is a good look and should be around for a long time.

I believe it's the '50's the designers were going after.

For a '40's looks I'd say one of these momma-jammas . . .

Harley held a dealer meeting and asked them what they'd like to see.
They said they wanted a bike that looked like it came from the 50s with todays tech.
Released in 1986 with what was known as a "Honda Shadow reject seat"
helped aftermarker seat makers. as that was one of the first mods new owners would make.
1987, the Heritage Classic came out with the look of todays Heritage, (bags/shield/black and chrome engine).
