Default 06 Night Train Fork Removal

I'm looking to remove the front forks, in order to install chrome boot covers. I can't find a link anywhere (here or youtube) that covers removal and reassembly of front forks.

I have serviceable mechanical skills and a lift but have never done this before. Looking at the bike, it looks pretty straightforward.

Anyone done this and have tips? Or anyone have a link to video?

I thought there was a chrome boot cover that you could fit held on with springs that you didn't have to disassemble anything off the bike, anyway here's how to take them apart part 2 putting it all back to gether is on utube somewhere.
