Default removing the transmission drain plug on 2005 Fatboy

A girlfriend of mine has a 2005 Fatboy, I was changing the fluids last night and couldn't get the tranny drain plug off. I know it's up between the shocks but couldn't get a socket on the plug. Can anyone help and explain how to get it off. I did a search but couldn't find anything.

Thanks

Use a 5/8" socket and extension to get the plug loose. You then have to take the socket off and use an allen wrench to get the plug the rest of the was out. The socket and plug will not come out past the shock.

I just did mine and I used a shallow socket on a three inch extension. You have to turn the socket/extension horizontal and feed it between the shocks and the narrower endthen turn in back vertical and slide it up to the nut with the socketnow on the top side of the shocks. That worked on my 2000 Heritage...hope this helps you!!

Here is a better idea of what it looks like, to show how you can use either a shallow socket or allen wrench to work it out.
