I've toyed with putting hard bags on my '03 Heritage, to replace the smaller, leather bags I got years ago (I hated all the studs).
I just don't like the looks of HD hard bags on a softail. I found a place called B&B Reproductions. They make reproductions of the old-style hard bags. They make them in white, cream, & black. They come with the double speed comets w/a few studs or the delta reflector medallion.
They aren't as big as the newer bags, but I think I like the look better...
Hey Texas5858, really like the look of your bike, want to do the same to my 2001 FLSTCI. I looked at the cyclevision web site and they say fiberglass bags are excluded in the fitment. Are yours ABS bags?
I actually started to put the hard bags on. I ordered color matching bags ($2000) and the adapter kit. Thank goodness the adapter kit came first. It was not well made, sorry i don't remember the maker. The piece that went inside the fender to bridge the 2 sides was square! it would have rubbed holes on the inside of the fender quickly. It also needed the pipes lowered 1" below the axle, so new pipes. I returned the kit and canceled the bags. I only had about 2K to spend, so I did the first thing an did the stage 1 with a custom dyno tune. With the AC, Rush 2" slips, and SE EMC controller, Pap Bags bag brace. it came to $2500 so that is all I could do.
The bags on my bike (in signature) are original and 7 days a week in the AZ sun no, cover at home or work. Those Papa bag braces really work so I have decided not to go with hard bags.

I think they are just saying the Fiberglass bags are not included, when I ordered my mounting kit from cyclevisions I mentioned this, he did not know what I was talking about.

With the cyclevisions mounting kit you would not have had a problem, and Dallas Harley Davidson has had some new Heritages with stock pipes and Hard bags.

Well, that makes sense to me....the word they used was "excluded" implying (to me) that they would not fit. You said it the correct way, (bags not included).
You didn't happen to ask about a filler kit, did you? I want an unpainted filler kit so I can match it all to the color (Marina Blue). Their filler kit (CV7220C) for my bike is chrome but if you read the descriptive text it says, "Made from 16-gauge cold Roll steel. Comes in raw finish"
That doesn't sound like chrome to me. I have used their contact from and asked for clarification, but haven't heard from them yet.

Actually that is very similar or could be the same one I had. See how the bracket that bridges the 2 sides together... the square one. Doesn't that fit inside the fender (which is round)? Looked like it would to me so I didn't install it. If you have a pic of how it is installed it would be nice on how the bracket fits up in there.
Well, I pulled the trigger and ordered the Cyclevisions mounting kit and filler panel kit from Powersports Superstore via Amazon. together, it was 124 dollars cheaper than the Cyclevisions web site. Supposed to get here next weekend.
eichacsj, I think/hope the bracket connecting the two bag mounts doesn't touch the fender on the inside. If it does, I'm going to try to work with it if possible....the added strength of the crossover bracket is what sold me on the Cyclevisions mount.
Also I will remark the Cyclevisions pdf catalog has a much clearer description of the kits than the online page.
I went with the cycle vision kit, and a set of Hard saddle bags (no namers) off of ebay. Not a bad install at all and I didn't have to move or adjust the rear turn signals. No issue on the exhaust, my exhaust is pretty much centered on the rear axle. With the big stock Heritage seat, the front portion of the bag does touch when you need to open them, but nothing to crazy, and I may just go to a smaller seat, we'll see. Bags didn't come with locks, so I ordered a set and will have them on by weekend. All said and done, about $495.
