I have a softail sprinter classic and it has a huge mustang double seat on it that I'm looking to swap out. I'm looking for a solo seat and was thinking about puting on a softail deluxe seat, I like the way it looks.
I'd love some input on how comfortable the stock flstn seats are from your experiences.
As mentioned, it's a personal thing. I hated the stocker (it pushes you so far forward you are practically on the tank) and quickly dumped it. It looks cool, but isn't for taller riders or riders who like to stretch out. Ron 😎
I was ok with my stock deluxe seat, but i am not a big guy. After reading threads about Mean City Cycles, i went on their website and found what all they can do. They lowered me, moved me back, narrowed the thigh area, and put in memory foam for all just over $110.00 or so. Its better than a new seat to me, but with the cool looks of the deluxe seat. Added a springer grab rail as well.
It does look good but not very comfortable. After about a half hour it starts hurting my back side and lower back. I took the cover off and added more foam with a little bit more give to it. Put the cover back on and so far so good.
I had the MCC mod done to my seat. They moved back an inch, down an inch & added memory foam. I also added the springer rail & lower back rest & couldn't be happier.
MCC does top notch work!

I had the same issue and decided to go with a C&C solo seat. I only had the stock seat on for about 3 months after I bought the bike and then I bought the C&C which has been on there ever since.
I like the stock seat on my Deluxe but after riding it 100 miles yesterday. I think that I would change some things with the seat. I have checked out the Mean City Cycles web site and think that I am going to invest in that route. I just do not want to spend too much money on a seat that I will not like or have no experience with.
