Have a 1998 softail custom bought the extended 3 in forward controls kit came with 2 plates and shifter linkage but no instructions. Can't find any instructions on the internet. So was wondering if anyone here can help

 

First you remove your forward controls (I would leave the brake line hooked up but loosen any clamps along the brake line). Install the extension plates on the frame at the stock mounting points. Then attach you forward controls to the extension plates. If the brake line doesn't have enough slack you may have to get a longer line. Install the extended shift linkage. I would use blue Loctite on all the bolts. I hope this helps you out.

 

They gave the wrong kit. They gave me the kit that has the master cylinder suppose to be on the brake lever and mine is on the frame. Thanks for the help
