I have a 2012 FLSTC I have replaced the switch 1 time under warranty about 2 years ago the switch is bad again and the bike will only start in neutral. I always start bike in n neutral with the clutch pulled in Except on the rare occasion when I stall it out at a light and need to start it fast with only the clutch pulled in.
My question is can I bypass this switch completely instead of replacing it, and if so HOW?
I have the same issue with my 2013, the switch runs about 70 bucks and according to the wiring diagram it goes directly to the CAN bus.
Bypassing it seems like an option I would guess that the gear display would stop working, I don't see how it would cause other issues
