Does a 93 Heritage even have the star wheel?
I'm not sure it does.

For me the "star wheel" has worked fine, but can be a bit cumbersome especially with gloves on.

I can't imagine spending hundreds of dollars on an aftermarket cruise control.
Perhaps for me it's a need thing. God knows I've spent much more on things that others can't under my reasons why.

Anyway the "go cruise" seems like a decent alternative to the "star wheel".
Also, the "cruise mate" is another option if you have the "star wheel".

11 years of riding and I just discovered the purpose of the star wheel last year omw to sturgis. It isn't so cumbersome. I usually keep it at a spot where one or two flicks of the thumb and it locks everything up.

You don't want to lock everything up...you just want to put enough resistance to throttle return movement to keep it in "last left" position, it's easy to manually roll-off that way without messing with the thumbwheel
