I know this has been beaten to death but it is time to buy a battery. Local HD store wants $142.00 after tax.
I don't mind spending it if it really is that much better then an aftermarket battery. Anyone have any advice if I should buy it or if there is a just as good if not aftermarket battery.
If so hoping the fit and cranking amps will be the same as a factory battery.
I have always used Interstate batteries with great success. Just put a new cycle-tron plus high performance battery in my 11 FLSTC. Cost me $120 and some change. Turns the bike over with ease and fires right up. Rated at 320 CCA
Since you asked, I have only gotten 2-3 years out of an HD battery. It is probably not the battery but the Texas heat. I keep my battery on a tender all the time. So, the last time around I put in a Batteries + Bulbs replacement battery. It is about the same price, give or take, as the HD battery but it has a 2 year warranty.
batteries die. just buy the cheapest one you can find, and replace as needed. from what i've heard the same manufacturer that makes the HD one makes one for a place called batteries plus. and supposedly batteries plus also gives a decent warranty.
Big crank- agm and only 100 bucks. What's not to like. If I couldn't get Duracell agm from a buddy for 100 I would go back to big crank.
Agm batteries do better with the vibrations than sealed batteries
