I also went with Big Crank after 4 years. Harley doesn't make batteries, they build motorcycles. They buy their batteries, get a label off a printer and put the label on the battery and sell it.
I paid $100 for the big crank and got it in 2 days. So far so good.
I just replaced mine a month or so ago.
I was going with a Big Crank but decided to go with my local Batteries Plus and get the 2 year warranted Duracell for around $110 after some discounts.
Deka battery(makes harley branded batteries). Lowes has the lowest price I can find. takes a day or two to get in but with a 10 off 50 coupon(google "Lowes renovo power" to find coupon) they are dirt cheap compared to other places. I just paid $77 plus tax at lowes for one for my deuce. Go to http://www.dekacatalog.com/ to find the exact model u need..
I picked up a Yuasa GYZ-20HL battery, and a set of Sumax Extreme Duty cables (2 gauge), for Reaper. She used to have real issues with low cranking speeds causing kickbacks that destroyed starter clutches. That doesn't happen anymore.
I know this has been beaten to death but it is time to buy a battery. Local HD store wants $142.00 after tax.
I don't mind spending it if it really is that much better then an aftermarket battery. Anyone have any advice if I should buy it or if there is a just as good if not aftermarket battery.
If so hoping the fit and cranking amps will be the same as a factory battery.
Can get it a little cheaper on Amazon, suppose to last damn near 8-10 years. Has no trouble cranking my slim and game me a ton of free room under the seat.
