Default Ness lowering kit

Has anyone installed a shock extension kit themselves? If so do you just put the whole shock in the press and compress it to get at the reatining ring? The instructions that came with this are vague to say the least.[:@]I,m gonna do it tomorrow and just wanted some tips if anyone has them. Thanks

Got your PM.

This should help. Click on the Installing lowering kit link on the left and they are very detailed instructions with pictures.

Very cool that was exactly what I was looking for.It helps to see pics instead of reading some generic written info. Thanks for the link.

I installed the kit today and all went well. The first shock took about an hour and the second all of ten minutes(learning curve)[:@]The bikes is still all apart as I,m waiting to do the paint.Once I get it back together I'll shoot some pics of the tear down and the finished product.I must say even without the tank, the bike looks unbelievably better already.Definitely an improvement.I gotta get this thing done soon,I,m going nuts without a bike.

See my sig pic.If it was just one color I would do it myself but I know when it's out of my league and the detail work to get that looking good is well beyond my ability.I've got everything else done on the bike by myself but the paint should be done in the next couple weeks.
