Default What angle does your side stand remain at when in use?

This could be a killer stupid question, but the sidestand on my 07 Deuce is giving me cause for concern. When the bike is at rest on the stand, handlebars turned far left, the stand sits at about a 95 degreeangle from the bike. I'd be more comfortable seeing at a bit further toward the front for a bit more stability i.e 100 degrees or greater - and forget about leaving the bike with the handlebars in a straight or turnedright configuration, the bike tries to roll off the stand. It's a 350+ kg unit and i don't want to be picking it up off the deck (and crying over getting it repaired) if it does go over.

At what angle does your stand rest when in use supportting your bike? Does the tensioning spring under the stand provide a bit more 'give' as time wears on?

If the '07 Duece has the old stand-by HD kickstand, where it mounts to the foot shift/foot peg bracket, you have no problem. Look down there with someone else lowering the bike onto the stand. Notice the tab that fits into the top part of the mounting bracket? Once the weight of the bike is on the side stand that tab locks it in place. Unless the tab is broken/worn, the bike can't roll off the stand.

Now if the Duece has a different stand, all bets are off!

I don't like the angle on my 07 FLSTC either. I don't like the stand either. When parked the angle appears unstable, and the stand seems flimsy. The foot print is already sinking into the asphalt and its only in the mid 80's. Nothing like my old jiffy stand on my 82 Low Rider.

I don't like the angle of mine, either. Seems to me it could easily be at 100* or better and I'd feel a little safer. It does NOT seem safe on that stand at all, IMO. It's on my list of things to look into. [:@]

As stated in previous post, if the bike is in gear and pushed foward till it stops due to being in ger then deploy the stand the bike is going NO WHERE!I dont care if your on a incline up or down ( with in reason).

Mine's the same way and I agree it has never felt real solid when resting on the stand.

If you're talking about the stand not sitting 90 degrees to the bike, my fxstc is about 2-5 degrees to the rear when engaged. Perfectly safe cause the locking lug is in it's pocket, even though it looks like it should be more forward. Slight engineering flaw with the lug orientation, but it's ok.

Yeah, never like it ether. Heard alot of people here say there bike went over while idiling so I never idile it unless I'm on it. I also always try and park on a grade running toward therear or put it in gear to keep it from moving forward.
