I hate chrome, more of a murdered out look guy. I just bought a 2005 Night Train and the guy I bought it from put chrome short shots or something similar, I cant find the brand. They look like crap and blue and discolor bad. I'd like to remove them, sandblast them and then paint and wrap them black.
No need to sandblast them, or paint them then. if you are going to wrap them, then just wrap them. You could also send them out for a powdercoat. Powdercoaters can paint them in a tough finish, new or old.
Ceramic coating is the way to go for sure if you don't mind waiting for it to be done. I had a set of headers on a nitrous car that saw EGT's through the roof on the big end spraying two kits and they never ever looked anything but perfect with god knows how many passes and 20,000 miles on the street. Also had a turbo car I coated the tubular manifold on and that car saw 15k street miles probably being beaten like a red headed step child and popped the motor a few times as well leaning it out (electronic boost controllers are the devil, horsepower is just a few clicks away and I have poor self control) and the EGT's on a lean turbo motor will get wayyyyyy up there right before it pops. No cracking, peeling, discoloration, nothing. Just good looking coating.

Hi temp powder coat? Didn't know they could do that.
