For those telling me to just splice in, I've tried it in a couple places now.... Each time gives me an error code. So, I'm gonna try the 'Electrical Connection Upgrade Kit' the J Bee linked to above! Surprisingly, it's less than $20!
Why don't you wire the passing lamps like the Heritage models? Just read the schematics to see how it is done properly.
I did try this. Again, it's because of these bulbs are not CanBus compatible... They throw codes when I try to connect them to any auxiliary or running light circuit.
I've never heard of "CanBus compatible" bulbs, sounds like a marketing scheme to make people spend more money.
Just get yourself an Elenco 1 Watt Resistor Substitution Box and put that between your bulb and wiring harness. Then experiment with the resistor values (starting at the smallest one and working your way up) until the codes stop. Once you find the proper resistor value, make a wiring harness using the proper resistors that fits between your light and wiring harness.
J_Bee had the answer! The electrical upgrade kit worked perfectly! The cool thing was, I had 15 and change left on a gift certificate... So, my total out of pocket, including tax was less than three bucks!
Now, my inexpensive and incredibly bright, with halo/angel eye bulbs are switched with my ignition.
